SASSA Status Check 2026 - What's New This Year
The 2026 SASSA picture: the SRD R370 grant is still going, older grants got a small bump in April, and the status check process is the same as before. Here is everything you need for 2026.

April 2026
Grant amounts updated in 2026 budget
Older Persons, Disability and War Veterans grants increased to R2,330. Child Support to R560. SRD R370 remained unchanged.
March 2026
SRD R370 extended to March 2027
The Social Relief of Distress grant has been formally extended for another year. The R370 amount and the means-test rules stay the same.
January 2026
eKYC rollout continues
More applicants are being asked to complete electronic Know Your Customer identity verification through the SRD portal.

Same as before - none of the official channels have changed:
