Tips for Visiting a SASSA Office
Arrive early: SASSA offices open at 07:30 and close at 16:00. Queues can be very long, especially in the first week of each month. Arriving before 08:00 gives you the best chance of being served quickly.
Bring all documents: Always bring your original ID and any other relevant documents. Making multiple trips because of missing documents wastes your time.
Ask for a receipt: Always ask for a receipt or reference number for any transaction or application. This gives you proof of your visit and a way to follow up.
Know your rights: SASSA services are free. No one should charge you for any SASSA service or application. If someone asks for payment, report it to the SASSA fraud hotline.
